A sponge-on waterproofing for nubuck and suede footwear. Waterproofs and maintains breathability, support and texture of nubuck and suede footwear.

Great for waterproofing any textured leather footwear such as nubuck and suede footwear.

Footwear Cleaning Gel

How Nikwax Footwear Cleaning Gel™ maintains the breathability of your waterproof footwear:

Nikwax Footwear Cleaning Gel™ is a safe product to use on breathable waterproof footwear as it does not leave water-attracting (hydrophilic) residues, which lead to fabric and leather absorbing water and ‘wetting out’. Nikwax Footwear Cleaning Gel™ removes water absorbent dirt and stains picked up during use; this revitalises the Durable Water Repellency (DWR) and causes water to bead on the outer surface.

Regular cleaning with Nikwax Footwear Cleaning Gel™ will revitalise existing DWR and revive breathability of your footwear, keeping your feet dry and comfortable.

All Nikwax packaging is made from 100% recycled plastic and is recyclable (#2 plastic) in New Zealand.

How To Use

Nubuck & Suede Proof Sponge

  • Brush off dirt with a damp cloth and clean using Nikwax Footwear Cleaning Gel™
  • Shake well before use. Press sponge applicator to break seal.
  • Apply generously to wet footwear; Spray-On (from a distance of 5 cm) or Sponge-On
  • After 2 minutes, remove surplus with a cloth and allow to dry before use

Note: Light/coloured nubuck or suede may darken after treatment. Test on a hidden area first.

Footwear Cleaning Gel

Recommended for GORE-TEX®, eVENT® & SympaTex® footwear.

  1. Rinse item with clean water to remove loose mud and to dampen surface
  2. Shake well before use. Press sponge applicator to break seal.
  3. Apply generously over the area to be cleaned
  4. If very dirty scrub with a stiff nylon brush (e.g. nail brush)
  5. Rinse well with clean water
  6. If required, apply appropriate Nikwax® Water Based waterproofing or conditioner while footwear is damp

Note: Colour may run, test on a hidden area first.
